Tommie Soro is an Irish artist and PhD fellow whose work and research focus on deconstructing societal assumptions and productively critiquing systems of hierarchy and exploitation. Typically taking the form of interventions in public space, his work proposes that contemporary art has a underutilised potential as an mode of public discourse. In juxtaposition to this public practice, he also produces work in the tradition of institutional critique, typically attempting to unpack how this tradition functions within the artworld’s reputational economy.
